Twitter

Twitter was definitely a new experience for me and I at first I was standoffish because I knew it was kind of like facebook, but only the status updates and I just figured no one would care what I was doing all the time.  As I got my account set up I realized twitter could act like a blog to some people.  They could find a quote and then people can comment on it and say what they think about it or you could just type what you did that day, like a journal.
It was cool to see what other people tweeted about because it was like an insight to their life and you could see how different or similiar the things they go through are to what you go through.  I personally learned that I don't think this social network is for me cause I feel like it's too much to keep up on and it doesn't catch my interest like other social networks do, but that's not to say that I didn't like trying something new because now I can say I have tweeted before.
One thing that I didn't understand was when I was trying to find a person to follow and their 'twitter name' wasn't their real name and so either a bunch of people with that name showed up or I got nothing, but that could possibly be the fact that I wasn't really sure what I was doing and where I was supposed to look for people.
One way I find it valuable to keep my twitter account is to keep updated on what goes on with Hixson and then since we followed things for ISU in general, like basketball I'm sure I could look on there to find out when the next game is.  Also, I like to read the newspaper sometimes, so I could always look up the Des Moines Register to keep updated on a few 'big' things that are happening in our world.

I find this link useful because I didn't think twitter was a very useful website besides for telling people what you did today, but this website helps to show its more than just 'status updates. 'http://www.balkhis.com/twitter/25-reasons-why-someone-should-join-twitter/
