A time when I was at my best!

The time when I felt like I was at my best was actually at my high school graduation.  I felt the biggest sense of accomplishment.  I had graduated second in my class with a GPA of 3.944.  I finally felt like all my hard work had paid off.  I was proud of myself for making it all four years and not slipping and getting less than an A in a class.  It was also nice to know that other people in the community noticed how hard I worked when they came up to me and congratulated me on getting second in my class!
There were many times that I had thought about giving up and not caring about what I got for grades, but then I would always remember the reason why I kept trying.  I wanted to get a lot of good scholarships because I knew that would be about the only way I would pay for college.  Once I graduated, I was so happy about receiving all my scholarships and knowing that I earned them.  It was almost like school was my job and I got paid to do well.
My parents were always very supportive of me doing well in school, but they never forced me to do well.  But, after awhile they did expect it.  I guess it was just a personal motivation to do well.  My friends would sometimes make fun of me because I would work so hard and study so much, but they were still supportive and understood why I was doing it.
Not to mention my eighteenth birthday was also the same day as graduation.  That was kind of weird that I was officially a high school graduate and an adult all in one day.

  1. Good job! Second in the class is an amazing place to be. I was also in the top of my class but I was friends with all the nerds too lol so we all studied together and my 4 best friends ended up being 1st, 2nd, 3rd, I was 4th, and 5th in the class. I also think it's cool that your birthday was the same day. That must have been an exciting weekend!

  3. I am glad to hear that you worked so hard, and were able to see the benefits of all you efforts. Also, coincidentally, I too graduated on my 18th birthday!! Like you said, it was a big day. Finally being a high school graduate, and officially being adult all in one day. I also had my birthday/graduation party that night, so it was a busy day too.

  6. I was second in my class, too! I know what your saying when you said that your parents didn't push you, but it was just kind of expected because that is exactly how my parents are.

  8. That is so awesome that you had the internal motivation to do well studying hard even if you friends didn't always think you needed to. A lot of people aren't able to motivated themselves without external motivation.
