Teenager at Alcatraz

On September 16, I went to the diversity event, "Teenager at Alcatraz."  The guy who spoke, talked very fast and it was a bit difficult to hear him, but he told a very interesting story.  He told a story of two boys who got into trouble.  Their life was not very good.  When they were little boys they went into town when they weren't supposed to and they were hit with towels that had bleach in them and they were wearing their nice clothes and they thought it was funny until they realized that the towel had bleach in it.  Then the two boys got an idea to rob a restaurant because they needed money and they went at the busiest time of day, but they robbed the place before the rush was over, so they didn't get a lot of money.  They had a gun with them and when they ran away to hide, they ended up int his room and another man was in the same room, so then they panicked and one of the boys shot the man to death.  He was then sent to Alcatraz, he was the youngest person to go there.  When he got there, him and some other guys there made up a plan to escape.  Their plan was to shoot all the people guarding the place, but the teenager was the only one who didn't want to actually kill the guard, because the guard pleaded for his life.  So the guard pretended to be dead.  The teenager didn't get away and was later put on trial.  The guard came to the trial to say that he wanted the teenager to be free because he didn't kill him. 
All in all, the story was very interesting and I didn't seem like the story was real. I was very surprised that that man came back and wanted the teenager to be free.  I would have never guessed that would happen..  That boy had a very hard life and I'm very thankful that mine is completely different than his.
